The abandoned ruins of a Bay Saint Louis bank vault, left behind after Hurricane Katrina washed away the rest of the building, was the setting this series of bridal portrait photographs on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. We also shot in other areas of downtown Bay Saint Louis during the portrait session, but the bank vault series was my favorite.
Of course, these were fairly hazardous conditions for a wedding dress and veil, with lots of exposed sharp edges that could snag delicate fabric, but the bride was adventurous and really wanted to shoot there, and I was happy to oblige.
Unfortunately (for me as a photographer, but a good thing for the community), this land has since been redeveloped, so this cool, grungy spot no longer exists.
