Oak Crest Mansion Inn, a beautiful and tranquil bed & breakfast built in the 1920s and located in DeLisle near the sleepy town of Pass Christian Mississippi, is a wonderful wedding venue that is just bursting with Southern charm. Situated on a nicely sized piece of land right on Bayou Portage, there is ample space for events in several different spots on the grounds, along with plenty of opportunities for portraits, and the property features a chapel for intimate weddings as well.
Being a bed & breakfast, Oak Crest Mansion Inn also has accommodations for both the bride and the groom to get ready on site before the ceremony, which can take much of the stress out of the wedding day since there are no transportation arrangements that need to be made (and that's one less thing to potentially go awry!). The ballroom at the rear of the venue, recently constructed but equal in terms of elegance and charm, can comfortably accommodate a large number of guests. There was a periodic light drizzle outside, so this Hattiesburg couple opted to have their marriage ceremony in the gorgeous grand foyer of the mansion instead, with the bridesmaids and groomsmen lining the elegant curved staircase. For outdoor weddings, it's always wise to have a rain plan!
This image was shot with an ultra-wide angle lens, to capture as much of the majestic room as possible, all the way from the wood flooring to the balconies on the second floor, and the graceful chandelier hanging from the ceiling. This venue epitomizes Southern grace and hospitality, and it was a pleasure to shoot there. The Pass Christian area also has several other great wedding venues, such as The Historic Blue Rose, the Pass Christian Yacht Club, and the Bay-Waveland Yacht Club.
