This photograph of an oil refinery near New Orleans was captured as part of an initial damage assessment of various industrial facilities in the area just a few days after Hurricane Ida in 2021, with the directive being to capture wide-angle overview shots of the sites, along with tighter shots of the larger units such as these, and the dock facilities on the river, along with discretionary shots of any areas that appeared damaged or flooded. Although this shoot was conducted with a helicopter chartered by the industry organization that was making the assessment, similar images can be captured by drone, though the nature of this particular job (involving several different sites spread across about 50 miles, some of the facilities being in remote areas with roads possibly impassable, and with a requirement for a rapid turnaround) made the helicopter a more suitable choice.
