This wonderful couple's wedding was a blast to photograph. The ceremony and reception both took place at The Foundry, an amazing venue in the Warehouse District of New Orleans that sadly no longer exists. This wedding was actually the final event I would ever photograph at this popular and well-loved venue, as it was scheduled to be closed down just a few weeks later as a result of the building being purchased by someone intending to turn it in to an auction house.
The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Johnny Adams, and I loved the joyful faces of this newly married pair of brides as they walked down the aisle together at the conclusion of the ceremony. They and their crowd of adoring guests then all grabbed handkerchiefs and kicked off the celebration in true New Orleans fashion by second lining around the room to get the reception started.
If you like the rustic appearance of now closed wedding venues like The Foundry and the Conti Wax Museum, another great location choice is The Chicory, which is also located in the Warehouse District on South Peters Street, right above Ernst Cafe. With exposed wood beams and brick walls, it provides a similar ambiance that many couples love. Republic NOLA is another excellent choice.
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana.
