In this photo captured at the end of the couple's wedding ceremony in the Royal Sonesta Hotel's ballroom, the groom gestures to one of the guests as he and the bride recess down the aisle.
As central locations in the French Quarter go, it doesn't get much better than the Royal Sonesta. It's located right on Bourbon Street, right in the middle of the action! Balcony suites are available, and there are several event spaces, including a courtyard for intimate weddings and the adjacent Fleur de Lis Suite indoor space, and a several spacious and opulent ballrooms, which is where this couple's ceremony and reception took place.
The bride wrote the following nice compliments after the wedding:
Michael is wonderful! Not only does he have fair prices, he gets the best pictures and is super easy to work with. He's professional and gets the formal pictures done with ease. When its time for the reception/ceremony, he lets you do your own thing and enjoy your night (barely noticing he's there) resulting in the best candids and real shots. He takes a list ahead of time of all requested shots during that time as well. He is timely with picture turn around time. Since receiving our pictures, we've gone through them entirely probably about 20 times. We are able to relive the night through his beautiful pictures and couldn't be happier with them. Thanks, Michael!
And perhaps the greatest compliment of all from this family was being contacted a year later by the bride's sister, who selected me to photograph her wedding as well, which took place at The Chicory in the warehouse district.
