Julie and Bill’s fabulous wedding day, expertly coordinated by Unique Weddings in New Orleans, started out with a first look at the Roosevelt Hotel, followed by some portraits of the couple and most of the formal group shots up on the pool deck of the hotel. We then headed across the street to beautiful Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for the ceremony. As a big fan of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, it was a special treat to hear the LPO’s Vance Woolf performing on trumpet throughout the ceremony along with the church’s wonderful musicians, and a young relative of the couple also played piano beautifully during communion.
Back at The Roosevelt, the reception took place in the famous and historic Blue Room. There, The Mixed Nuts were on hand for the entertainment, and did a great job as usual. The groom’s cake, crafted by the hotel’s pastry chef, was in the form of a Cervélo bicycle, with the front surface of the cake depicting a silhouette of the couple holding hands as they cycled together, and landmarks of the Washington DC skyline in the background.
At the end of the night, the always fabulous Kinfolk Brass Band led the couple and all the guests down Canal Street on a fantastic second line parade!
