I photographed Anne’s sister’s New Orleans wedding about four years ago, and was thrilled when the bride’s mother contacted me about working with their family again! The bridal party got ready at the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the French Quarter, and then we headed around the corner to the Hotel Mazarin, where the ceremony took place in the courtyard, which was beautifully decorated by Bee’s Wedding Designs. One great thing about this hotel’s courtyard is that it has a retractable cover that provides shelter from foul weather, but is high enough so that it does not interfere with the the wonderful ambiance of the courtyard, though the weather was fine on this beautiful Spring afternoon. After a festive Second Line parade, Jimmy Maxwell’s band entertained for the reception in the hotel’s recently renovated indoor space, La Louisiane, which is a lovely location to shoot at. Bee’s had also done a fabulous job decorating this area and the cake table as well. At the end of the night, the couple had a departure through sparklers, and then were whisked away on a carriage!
