If you’re looking for a fabulous rustic wedding venue in the New Orleans area, look no further than the Berry Barn in Amite, Louisiana. Located near Hammond on the northshore, the Berry Barn is situated on an actual working strawberry farm. In addition to having a very nice outdoor ceremony area, the indoor space (air conditioned, of course!) is spacious and beautifully decorated. Cassie and Daniel, along with their family and friends, were absolutely wonderful to work with.
The bride and groom wanted to have a moment of prayer together before the ceremony, but Daniel did not want to see Cassie until she was walking down the aisle. So, he was brought to her blindfolded so that they could share this special time together before becoming husband and wife.
While I can’t say for certain whether or not their prayers included a request for some cloud cover on this August afternoon, or for the approaching thunderstorm to hold off until after the ceremony and formal group photographs, but that’s exactly what happened! The perfect amount of cloud cover not only made it more comfortable for everyone, but also provided perfect light to work with. Some of the couple’s ministry friends provided the ceremony music, and in an unexpected surprise, Daniel took the microphone and sang a beautiful song to his bride, which brought her to tears.
After the ceremony we had just enough time to get our group shots done before the rain came, and similarly, at the end of the night the persistant rain stopped just in time for the guests to give the newly married couple a spectacular sparkler send-off.
