This lovely bride chose to do her bridal portrait at Longue Vue House and Gardens in New Orleans. It’s a fantastic place for this type of photography. The elegance of the home and the well-manicured gardens mesh perfectly with a beautiful bride. Also, numerous great spots are available around the grounds.

The venue’s bridal portrait fee includes access to private facilities for the bride to change into her dress, which is a welcome amenity.

A Historic Home in New Orleans

Longue Vue was the home of New Orleans philanthropists Edgar and Edith Stern. Built in the late 1930s – early 1940s, the 20 room mansion replaced the existing house on the site. The original home would not allow them to realize their vision of the house and gardens being fully integrated as one cohesive unit. The house was designed by architects William and Geoffrey Platt, while landscape architect Ellen Biddle Shipman designed the gardens.

Now a museum, Longue Vue House and Gardens is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and has also been designated a National Historic Landmark.
