If there were an encyclopedia entry for the term “good people”, this couple’s picture would be right next to it! Β Keisha and Steve were so delightful to work with during their engagement portrait a few months ago, and this was the case for their wedding as well.
The bride, a talented vocalist in the Air Force, filled her hotel room with joyful singing as she was getting ready. Β The couple shared a beautiful first look in the back courtyard of the Maison Dupuy, followed by their ceremony in the main courtyard, which was officiated by Rev. John Zimmer.
The bride’s unwaveringly positive attitude was particularly evident immediately following the ceremony when a moderate rain shower started just as their planned second line parade was beginning. Β Despite the fact that it was quite literally “raining on her parade”, there was absolutely no indication of any disappointment on her face at all as they danced through the streets with the Kinfolk Brass Band, and all of us had a great time! Β The band could have very easily said, “sorry, it’s raining, so we’ll just have to play inside instead”, but they clearly share the same dedicated work ethic that I do when it comes to weddings… getting a little wet is a small price to pay for helping to make our couple’s wedding day as memorable an experience as possible.
Meanwhile, Steve, a trombonist now retired from the Air Force, set the bar quite high for second lines by bringing his horn along, and jamming with Kinfolk during the parade. The weather cleared up shortly thereafter, and after dinner we were able to proceed with the reception as planned in the courtyard, with Stage 1 Entertainment handing the DJ duties. Β It was a wonderful evening!
Here’s what the bride wrote to me immediately after the wedding:
Thank you SO much for your amazing photography and incredible professionalism! Your photos are such a blessing and are a beautiful way to ensure our memories are forever preserved. We can’t thank you enough! Merry Christmas!
She followed up later with this more extensive review:
Oh my gosh! I can’t say enough about Michael. What I will say first is that I LOVE our photographs! Being on a strict budget, I also love that I knew up front what our price range would be. Michael did our engagement and wedding photos. He made us feel SO comfortable and WAS not pushy. When we got our photos back, I kept thinking WOW how did he get that shot when he was just over here shooting this angle?! Michael is super professional and very accommodating . It starting raining during our second line, and Michael never skipped a beat in covering us. I mean…at one point it was POURING…but he just kept shooting, even with his expensive equipment.. Thank you so much, Michael for capturing our special day! If you’re looking for someone you can trust with capturing what you want and more, hire Michael! He will always be a recommendation of ours!
