New Orleans Marriage Proposal by the River – Brittany & Mike

She said yes!  Marriage proposals are so much fun to photograph, and Mike had a great idea.  He lured Brittany to the French Quarter under the guise of playing tourist for the afternoon and him wanting to view a fictitious Navy ship that he said would be coming down the river.  They had lunch, shopped (Brittany even wanted to go look at engagement rings… how ironic, as her ring was safely tucked away in Mike’s pocket at that very moment), and did some sightseeing.  Little did she know that Mike had been planning this day for the past month or so, conspiring with Brittany’s mom, and enlisting a group of friends to hold a huge banner with a special message across the river, at Algiers Point.  The plan was to have Brittany look through the large sightseeing binoculars that can be found along the river, through which she would be able to read the banner.  As they casually strolled along the Moonwalk and stopped at the spot he had predetermined, he told Brittany he wanted to get a closer look at something on the opposite bank of the river.  Unfortunately, the plan hit a snag at this point… despite the fact that he had previously tested out the binoculars, they didn’t work this time.  However, he improvised, and popped the question, to which Brittany enthusiastically answered YES!  This special moment was punctuated with the cheers and applause of a group of nearby tourists who witnessed it.  Afterward, the couple celebrated with the friends who had helped, and then we did an impromptu mini engagement portrait session.  It was a fantastic afternoon!
