Wedding at the Riverview Room

I photographed Sara Kate’s sister’s wedding a few years ago in Destin, Florida, and it was wonderful to work with this family again for their wedding at The Riverview Room in the Jax Brewery building.

The bride and bridesmaids got ready at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel. Rather than a regular hotel room, the girls utilized a meeting room, which provided ample space for the somewhat large group. There was also a nice balcony door which provided an opportunity for an elegant photo of the bride looking out into the French Quarter. The hotel’s Royal Garden Terrace was where we did the first look with the bride and bridesmaids, as well as with her father, and provided space for some formal group photographs as well.

The ceremony was held on the Riverview Room’s outdoor patio, beautifully decorated by Beth’s Flowers, overlooking the New Orleans city skyline. We also did some group shots here after the ceremony.

The reception took place in the venue’s indoor space, also lavishly decorated with flowers, with the River City Hit Squad band providing the entertainment. Later in the evening, the bride and groom snuck out for a few quick sunset portraits with the French Quarter skyline in the background.

At the end of the night, couple was given a sparkler send-off, followed by the B.Murray Brass Band leading the group through the French Quarter on a second line parade, finishing up near Cafe du Monde, where the couple was then whisked away in a pedicab!
