This delightful Houston, Texas couple was so much fun to work with! After the ceremony in the beautiful brick-paved courtyard of Terrell House in uptown New Orleans, the Storyville Stompers led everyone on a fabulous second line parade through the streets, joined by the couple’s pair of dogs, and back to Terrell House for the reception.
Sometimes a Second Line parade takes place at the end of the end of the wedding. But other times, the parade happens right after the ceremony, either to move everyone to the reception venue, or, if the reception is located in the same place as the ceremony, to clear the guests out and let them have some fun while the space is being turned around. This parade was particularly special, as although Second Lines are a frequent occurrence in the streets of the French Quarter, they are less common for weddings taking place in other areas of the city. Regardless, there is no better way to either get the party started, or to cap off the end of a fabulous reception.
Celeste and Kathryn are both professional chefs, so of course their wedding was loaded with all sorts of fantastic and unique food. A couple of their expert chef friends from France took care of the catering. And rather than having one wedding cake, they instead had a table with a variety of cakes as well as many other amazing desserts. The couple had a wonderful group of friends and family, one of whom sang a beautiful song for them.
As you’ve probably guessed by this point, I’m perfectly comfortable photographing same same-sex weddings, and do so on a regular basis!
