I am an experienced New Orleans photographer who specializes in capturing weddings, portraits, marriage proposals, and other events throughout Louisiana and Mississippi.

I began my business as a professional wedding photographer in New Orleans in 2005, and have photographed over 800 weddings. In addition, I’ve captured numerous other events, and many engagement and bridal portrait sessions. Photography is my full-time occupation, not a side job, and weddings and other events represent the vast majority of my work. I also enjoy shooting family portraits and seniors.
Before starting my photography business, I worked for over 12 years in the advertising graphics field, primarily performing imaging-related work such as graphic design and photo color correction.
At the time I started photographing weddings, digital had just about fully taken over from film as the preferred medium for events, and my years of experience and familiarity with digital imaging carried over into my photography work and enabled me to immediately be comfortable with the technical aspects of digital photography. This made it easier to concentrate my efforts on creating beautiful pictures and wedding albums for my couples.
I shoot primarily in a documentary style. Although I of course do the standard group formals and portraits of the bride and groom or couple, the bulk of my wedding day coverage consists of unobtrusively capturing the beauty, splendor, and emotion of your day. My style is not traditional, but also not excessively artsy or eccentric. My couples and their guests frequently tell me that they found me to be very easy and pleasant to work with, flexible, dependable, and professional.
I’m located in Slidell, Louisiana, and though I’ve photographed events in Memphis, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Washington DC, I primarily work in southeast Louisiana (New Orleans, the Northshore, Baton Rouge, Lafayette) and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
I’ve won The Knot Best of Weddings award for numerous years, and am a member of the Best of Weddings Hall of Fame.
I’m a New Orleans area native, and have a fairly quiet, uncomplicated life. My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years, and we have four wonderful kids, ranging in age from junior high school to young adults. I enjoy cycling (mostly road, and occasional mountain biking as well, though “mountain biking” in this part of the country typically means mostly flat trails through the woods!). But my favorite pastime is playing music… I love playing clarinet in a local community orchestra, (which some of my kids participate in with me as well), and I currently serve on the organization’s board of directors. I’ve also played in several local concert bands and other ensembles.
I enjoy listening to orchestral music, particularly symphonies and concertos by classical and romantic era composers such as Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Dvorak, and Mozart. This music is the perfect companion for the extended amount of time I typically spend in front of the computer editing my couples’ wedding and portrait photographs, as it is entertaining, inspiring, and mentally stimulating. One of my greatest thrills as a wedding photographer was documenting the destination elopement of a couple who were both former members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, including some portraits inside the LPO’s home venue, the Orpheum Theater.
Lastly, I also have an affinity for lighthouses.
