I had a wonderful time photographing this easy going couple during their engagement portrait in October at Crescent Park in New Orleans, and had been anxiously awaiting their wedding ever since. Their ceremony took place at First Presbyterian Church on Claiborne Avenue, a lovely church that is a pleasure to photograph at and is staffed with delightful people who are very welcoming of weddings. But before the ceremony, the couple shared a first look outside the front of the church. The mid-afternoon light was not ideal here, but there were frequent times of cloud cover (which would help drastically), so we made the decision to wait a few minutes for better light. While Tyler patiently waited outside, a groomsman or two would periodically go out to visit with him and humorously offer moral support as he grew more and more anxious. But it was worth the wait, and the reveal was a beautiful moment, with the bride coming out of the church behind the groom. The ceremony was pleasant to photograph, thanks to the nice light coming in through the large windows along the sides of the church. Rynnie is a marine bioligist, and her ring featured a tiny engraved seahorse on the side. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the couple exited the front of the church while being showered with massive amounts of colorful confetti. I later learned that the couple and some friends had actually hand-cut all of that confetti out of sheets of tissue paper! Rain had been predicted, but thankfully the weather stayed clear for this. We then headed to Pat O’s on the River for the reception, where this very fun group of people had a wonderful time. The beautiful wedding cake was created by a friend of the couple, and the groom’s Ole Miss “Hell Yeah Damn Right” tiramisu from the La Louisiane Bakery was a big hit as well.
What a fun day this was! I’m reliving it all over as I scroll through these awesome pictures! The engagement pictures were also amazing.
