This fun California couple’s wedding ceremony and reception took place at the elegant Bourbon Orleans Hotel’s ballroom in the French Quarter. The weather wasn’t cooperating, but after a first look inside the hotel, we were able to sneak outside for a few quick portraits. The ceremony was officiated by a close friend, while another close friend (and band-mate of Joe) provided the music. After the ceremony, the fabulous Storyville Stompers brass band showed up and did a great job entertaining the guests while we finished up the rest of the formal group photographs. A little rain wasn’t going to stop this group from having a great time, so we hit the streets for a New Orleans second line parade despite the weather, which made for some great photographs, as I love how the French Quarter looks with wet streets. Back at the hotel, with the band South entertaining, near the end of the reception several special guests got up on stage to perform a few songs, including the bride and groom (on vocals and drums, respectively)! And rather than a traditional wedding cake, the couple instead opted for a fantastic multi-tiered king cake, in true New Orleans style.
