Jasmin and Timmy had a fantastic wedding at Southern Oaks on a beautiful June afternoon. There was just enough cloud cover to keep it from being too hot (also giving us great light to work with). At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Pin Stripe Brass Band led the couple back up the aisle and into the venue. Check out Timmy’s awesome basketball-themed groom’s cake!
Later during the reception, the Rising Dragon Dance Team put on a fabulous traditional performance, and at the end of the night, the couple was given a festive send-off by their guests!
I’ve done post-wedding portraits (“day-after” sessions as they’re typically called, even if not done literally the next day) before, but this couple had a great idea… a pre-wedding portrait session! About two months before the wedding, they got dressed up in their wedding attire, had a “first look”, and did a full portrait session at Southern Oaks.
Not only did this reduce stress on the wedding day by not having to do these portraits during the reception, it also enabled them to have several large canvas prints made to display around the venue. This prompted one amusing interaction with a guest toward the end of the night, as he approached me and asked, “I just have to know, how did you guys do these portraits today and get them printed in time for the reception?”
