Engagement Portrait in the French Quarter

What’s better than an engagement portrait in the French Quarter?  An engagement portrait with dogs!  Lauren and AJ brought their fur babies along so that they could be included in a few of the pics, and I’m glad they did!

Although engagement portraits are usually done well in advance of the wedding (often very soon after booking), in this particular case this couple’s session was done the very day before the wedding, which was at Southern Oaks. Occasionally couples will do this, particularly if it’s a destination wedding (Lauren and AJ are from Austin, Texas) and they’re not able to get into town earlier to do an engagement portrait. Since they were in town several days before the wedding, they decided to do the portrait session during this time. Of course, this precludes some of the traditional uses of engagement portrait images (such as for save-the-dates, or having framed prints on display at the reception), having these casual portrait photographs is a high priority for some couples.
