Camille and James exchanged vows at Saint Martin De Tours Church in St. Martinville, with the reception taking place right across the street from the church at Maison De Tours. Southern Magnolia Events coordinated the event, with Stella Maris handling the videography, and both were a pleasure to work with.
We took advantage of the balcony of the upstairs suite of Maison De Tours to get a fun shot of the entire wedding party with the bride and groom not being able to see each other (since they had not done a first look).
Before heading to the church, we did some pre-ceremony group shots down the street at Evangeline Oak Park, a beautiful setting for this stunning bride. A historic marker plaque at the site reads: Evangeline Oak. Longfellow’s poem “Evangeline” immortalized the tragedy of the Acadian exile from Nova Scotia in 1755. This oak marks the legendary meeting place of Emmeline Labiche and Louis Arceneaux, the counterparts of Evangeline and Gabriel.
The ceremony took place at Saint Martin De Tours, a historic church in this small town. Founded in 1765 by a group of Acadian exiles, the current structure was built in 1836 and dedicated on June 2, 1844. Because Maison De Tours is conveniently located right across the street from the church, the guests moved over to the venue in an unofficial second line parade featuring musicians from The Good Dudes, who also provided the reception entertainment.
At the end of the night, the couple was given a lavender send-off by the guests!
