This Mandeville couple’s wedding took place at Parkview Terrace in New Orleans City Park. We started out with a beautiful first look, with the bride coming across the nearby iconic Langles Bridge, where the groom waited on the other side. I’d always wanted to do a first look here, and was glad I was finally able to. It was a bit of a risky proposition, as it’s in a fairly busy portion of the park, so there would be a chance that a random person would come across the bridge at just the wrong time, while the first look was underway. But we enlisted a relative to stand guard on the other side of the bridge and ask anyone approaching to wait just a minute (or use the other nearby bridge).
It all went perfectly, and his emotional reaction was unforgettable!
The ceremony was held on the terrace of the venue, with guests blowing bubbles for the couple as they walked down the aisle at the conclusion. And the reception took place inside, with Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble providing the entertainment.

Parkview Terrace is located in the Casino Building, which is near Popp Bandstand. The venue is located on the upper floor of the building, while the lower floor is currently occupied by Cafe du Monde. It’s a great place for a smaller wedding, and can accommodate up to around 80 guests in a typical reception configuration with a dance floor.
Other City Park venues include Popp Fountain & The Arbor Room, and Pavilion of the Two Sisters.
