This Baton Rouge couple’s wedding took place at historic Jackson Barracks in New Orleans. The bride and groom both got ready on the base, and we did some portraits of both of them in various spots before heading over to the chapel (which, long ago, served as the base’s powder magazine) for the couple’s ceremony.
After the ceremony, we did some formal group shots by the beautifully weathered brick wall in front of the chapel, and then we had a little time to do some portraits of the couple around the area, including a shot of the bride and groom with a 1950s-era helicopter that is quite a bit smaller and less sophisticated than the Blackhawks that Brandon is accustomed to piloting in his service with the Army.
The reception took place inside the museum’s theatre / event space, where Beaucoup Boogie was on hand for the entertainment. At the end of the night, the band led the everyone on a second line parade around the venue, and then the guests assembled outside to give the couple a grand send-off as they departed in a vintage jeep.
