Claire and Tony’s wedding took place at the Pin Oak Room of The Oaks Wedding and Event Center in Pontchatoula, Louisiana. After the ceremony, we had a few minutes for portraits of the bride and groom before they entered the reception.
The ceremony had taken place at the outdoor space of the venue’s Pin Oak Ballroom, but because there was no event taking place that evening at the venue’s larger Live Oak Ballroom next door, the venue coordinator was kind enough to let us use that portion of the outdoor space for our portraits of the bride and groom. I loved the clusters of lights hanging from the grand oak trees!
The bride had these kind words for me afterward:
Michael did such an amazing job capturing our wedding. I’m so pleased to have these photos to look back on forever!
This was my first time photographing at wedding at The Oaks, and it was a good experience. I really like how this is actually two adjacent venues. This enables The Oaks to host smaller weddings of 30-100 guests in the Pin Oak Ballroom, or around 100-300 guests in the Live Oak Ballroom. Having an appropriately-sized venue is important. You don’t want to have too many guests crammed into too small of a space, but you should also try to avoid the opposite, having too large of a space for a more intimate wedding.
Both have an outdoor space for ceremonies, or the ceremony can take place inside in case of inclement weather.
Both venues also include a bridal suite for getting ready, which is a nice touch that not all event facilities offer. A wedding coordinator is provided, and The Oaks strives to make your wedding as stress-free as possible by including many other amenities, including decor, DJ, and photobooth.
