We started out Alayna and Gabe’s wedding day with some getting ready shots at the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel in the Warehouse District. The bride had a first look with her father, and then with her grandfather, in the hotel’s art gallery.
We then headed to the nearby Gallery Venue, where the wedding ceremony and reception would be held. The venue was beautifully decorated by Beth’s Flowers. It’s always a stunning visual for the bride and father to walk down the stairs from the bridal suite at the beginning of the ceremony! After the ceremony, we did our formal group photographs outside, and then spent some time with the couple for portraits in the area.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the fabulous Red Wolf Brass Band led the whole group on a second line parade through the streets, ending up at Lucy’s!
Sadly, the distinctive large blue arch-top shutter doors across the street, which just about every wedding at The Gallery takes photos in front of, are pretty much gone now. You can see them in one of the photos toward the bottom of this past wedding’s blog post. That building used to house the Louisiana Children’s Museum, which closed several years ago. It remained vacant for quite some time, but recently became occupied by a new business, and the blue doors were painted white, plus they are kept open most of the time now.
