I photographed the wedding of Seth’s sister a few years ago, and it was a blast. So I was thrilled when he contacted me about photographing his and Carleena’s Lafayette wedding in Grand Coteau, and it was wonderful to work with this family again.
The bride got ready at Buchanan Lofts in Lafayette. One of the most important aspects of photography is to look for good light, and make use of it, and there was a great spot along a rustic looking brick wall with gorgeous window light to work with for a portrait of the bride. The resulting shot highlights her beautiful eyes as she peers intently into the camera, and was one of my favorite shots from her wedding day.
The ceremony took place at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Grand Coteau. I loved the shot of the lighthearted moment the couple shared near the end of the ceremony.
We then moved to the Grand Coteau Ballroom for the reception. Louisiana Red provided the entertainment for this Acadiana wedding celebration, with a fun mix of classic dance music and zydeco. Near the end of the party, things get a little crazy as Seth pulled his dress shirt open Superman-style to proudly reveal his University of Louisiana Lafayette t-shirt underneath, much to the delight of his bride and the guests!
Though I am based in the New Orleans area, I am happy to travel to other parts of Louisiana such as Lafayette to photograph weddings, which I typically do once or twice a year, and have shot events as far away as Lake Charles and Shreveport as well.
