Tori and Jonathan had a wonderful wedding in the backyard of their Mandeville home, and it was a blast to shoot!
I loved this couple’s sense of humor. The ceremony, held in the gazebo that the groom had just recently finished constructing (where most of the reception action took place as well), featured the officiant delivering an excellent Princess Bride “mawage” opening. And hilariously, when it came time to do the garter toss, with the background music being Pour Some Sugar On Me, Jonathan literally poured sugar on himself, which was just one of many fabulous moments!
I loved the Spaceballs groom’s cake too. If you’ve never seen the movie (which is a parody of Star Wars), the cake alludes to a scene where a character espouses the power of movie merchandising, “where the real money is made”… Spaceballs the T-shirt, Spaceballs the coloring book, Spaceballs the lunchbox, Spaceballs the breakfast cereal, and so on.
The bride posted this nice review after the wedding:
This guy was fantastic! I’ve never seen pictures like his at other weddings. Standard wedding pictures are always necessary but what is missing from other photographers is getting into the reception and catching the fun moments that really make the wedding memorable. Barely noticed he was there but he got the best moments. A month after the weeding, we still keep looking at the pictures and laughing!
