This Slidell couple had an amazingly fun Summer wedding at The Villa in Carriere, Mississippi, which is near Picayune. After some getting ready shots, we started out with an emotional first look on a secluded paved pathway. We then did some portraits of the couple around the spacious grounds of the venue. We were also able to complete all of our formal group shots so that the couple wouldn’t miss any of their reception.
They exchanged vows inside, in front of a large wooden cross that was built by the groom, the two dads, and the bride’s brother (and decorated by the bride). The ceremony was officiated by the couple’s pastor, and concluded with a fabulous dip in the aisle.
After signing the marriage license and grabbing a quick portrait of the couple on the tree swing in the last few minutes of remaining daylight, we headed in to the reception, where the couple kicked off the party with a series of line dances. At the end of the night, the couple had one final private dance as the guests assembled outside for a sparkler send-off!
Since the 1950s, this property has been used for several different farming and industrial endeavors. It even once served as a dance hall. It now serves as a gorgeous French Country style event venue in southern Mississippi. It’s located in a rural area of Pearl River County, and features plenty of wide open space. Suites for both sides of the wedding party are available so that everyone can get ready on-site. The venue is run by the same people who own The Sadie Jane, Pinewood Plantation, and NOLA Southern Grill Restaurant & Catering (all in nearby Slidell, Louisiana).
