Carol and David’s wedding ceremony took place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in uptown New Orleans, concluding with a fabulous dip in the aisle. Carol was wearing her grandmother’s wedding dress, and it was a delightful moment when her grandmother first saw her wearing it during the getting ready portion of the day at Loews Hotel. She was also wearing the groom’s mother’s beautiful veil!
After the ceremony, we headed to the Audubon Aquarium, which is located right at the foot of Canal St. at the river, for the reception. There, the Bucktown Allstars were on hand for the entertainment, who were a great fit for this fun-loving couple and crowd, keeping the dance floor packed all night. High up on the couple’s priority list was a photo in the aquarium’s famous tunnel, so we made sure to sneak out of the party for a few minutes to grab that shot.
One particularly funny moment during the reception came when it was time to do the garter toss. The groom was blindfolded, ostensibly to make him have to feel around for his seated bride to remove the garter. Unbeknownst to him, the best man had swapped places with the bride. But once he found the best man’s outstretched leg, he figured it out pretty quickly!
